Thank you for email and for taking the time to raise your concerns about the Department for Education’s decision to reject my Committee’s recommendation that PSHE be made statutory in schools.
Following the publication of our report, and the Department’s disappointing reply, I have written to the Secretary of State on a number of occasions including a letter co-signed by the Chairs of the Health, Home Affairs, and Business, Innovation, and Skills Committees.
Over the coming months, we are likely to hear evidence from a number of government ministers, including the Secretary of State. I can assure you that we will continue to make the case for PSHE to be made statutory.
